Lenovo’s Special Edition ThinkPad Is Coming

Lenovo PC International has some exciting plans for the computers of the future. In fact, the Chinese multinational technology company revealed winning goals and ideas on Transform 2017 event earlier this year, somewhere in June. And this plan includes the renovation of its popular ThinkPad laptop, which is expected to have some serious transformations soon.

Lenovo, A Great Computer Maker

Lenovo is a well-known Chinese multinational technology firm with headquarters in different places – Beijing, China and Morrisville, North Carolina. It designs, develops, manufactures and sells PC, tablet, smartphones, servers, electronic storage devices, software for virus removal, smart televisions, and other technology accessories.

Since 2013, Lenovo Group Ltd. or Lenovo PC International is considered as the world’s largest personal computer vendor based on total unit sales. It markets the ThinkPad family of laptops, IdeaPad, as well as notebooks of Yoga laptops. The unit sales also included the Lenovo’s IdeaCentre and ThinkCentre lines of desktops.

A New Lenovo ThinkPad Is On Its Way

It has been 25 years since Lenovo launched its first ThinkPad 700C business laptop. It was a little large and underpowered compared to the laptops that are existing today. However, back then, it was one of the most popular machines that helped leaders in the age of the laptop market.

In the official blog post of the company, Lenovo chief design officer David Hill writes “At this point, it seems like the cat’s out of the bag.” It’s already confirmed that Lenovo will be making a special edition of the ThinkPad Laptop as part of its 25th-anniversary celebration. “It’s aimed at enthusiasts and super fans that were kind enough to share their thoughts about what the laptop might be,” Hill added.

Possible Features Of The New Lenovo ThinkPad

According to a news site, the Lenovo ThinkPad will sport exciting features more than its original version. These include stylus and voice assistant supports, which are already available on Microsoft Windows laptops. Recently, Qualcomm announced that the company is partnering with Microsoft to build laptops that will be powered by the same ARM-based platform located inside high-end smartphones. Therefore, the upcoming ThinkPad from Lenovo is also possible to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC with LTE support.

Another interesting feature of the new generation Lenovo ThinkPad is its flexible display, as well as its really advanced materials. As of now, the availability and specs of the new special edition ThinkPad are not yet officially exposed. However, Hill claims that “It has a wonderful black rubberized coating, three TrackPoint caps, and a keyboard to die for.” Probably, it will arrive by the end of this year with a price that is lower than $5,000.

2 Best Alternatives for MacBook Pro

Apple’s very own MacBook Pro might be the best selling laptop in the world. However, not everyone affords it and certainly, there are alternatives that are just as good as the MacBook.

Windows 10

Laptops that high-end components aren’t unique to Apple alone, thanks to other company that offers WIndows 10 laptop. If you want a cheaper system than Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup,  you could find good Windows 10 laptops that are very affordable for just under $300.

Depending on your needs, you could definitely find many more suitable options than the Apple product. In fact, there are many other options on the market nowadays with comparable features with the MacBook Pro. These alternatives include the Microsoft’s Surface Book and Razer’s Blade.

Microsoft Surface Book

Microsoft’s Surface Book is running underpowered ARM chips and has the awkward Windows 8 tablet/desktop hybrid interface. But despite this, Surface Book has evolved to become a very strong indicator of computer excellence, quality, and a no-compromise design. Just the right character to compete with MacBook Pro.

The Surface Pro 4 is a solid ultra-portable laptop that comes with good versatility. Its design showcases a distinctive style with touchscreen features and bundled Surface Pen. The screen can be detached into a tablet and its Windows 10 interface works well in a tablet-style.

There are a variety of Microsoft Surface Pro models, starting from an entry-level machine that comes with an i5 or i7 Skylake processor for just $1499. Other specs include SSD sizes from 128 GB up to 1TB and choices of 8GB or 16GB of RAM.

Razer’s Blade

Razer Blade is originally designed as a high-end, fast, and efficient gaming laptop. This California-based tech company was founded in 1998 and has been specializing in gaming products, especially laptops, since the start. Razer produces three categories of laptops, which are (1) workhorse 14-inch Razer Blade, (2) ultrabook styled Blade Stealth, and so far the best 17 inch Laptop (3) high-end 17-inch Blade Pro.

With a 14-inch screen, the Razer Blade is slightly larger than the newest Apple laptop. It is available in either a regular 1920 × 1080 IPS screen or touch enabled 3200 × 1800 screen. Razer’s Blade does not stand out just because of its good screen quality but also in its keyboard.

Razer is using Chroma backlighting technology for its keyboard so that it will give more light when it is opened specially at night. Every key can light up in a different color. You can also animate the color effects dance under your fingers.

When it comes to connectivity, the laptop offers a single HDMI 2.0 port for video and audio output, a single USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port as well as 3 USB 3.0 ports for a wide range of peripherals. The 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 is partnered with 16GB of RAM, and its battery life can comfortably surpass six hours of work.
