Edit Event
Tapping the note button edits the note for this event. Tapping the location lets you edit the
location, which can be up to 80 characters in length.
Ancestor Trees
The level of indentation indicates the generation. On color screens, men are displayed in blue and women in red. Tapping on a name displays the ancestors of that person. Tapping the Descendants button switches to displaying a descendants tree for the current person.
Descendant Trees
The level of indentation indicates the generation (i.e., people indented to the same level are siblings). Tapping on a name displays the descendants of that person. Tapping on the Father or Mother button displays the descendants of that parent. Tapping the Ancestors button switches to displaying an ancestors tree for the current person.
Filtering
This example shows two filters set up, one on surname and one on birth year. Tapping on the words "Surname" or "Birth Year" will display the search criteria currently set up. Tapping on the Done button will return you to the List of People. Only people who meet both criteria (e.g., surname of "Smith" and born before 1900) will be displayed.
Relationship Calculator
This is an example of the result of a relationship calculation. It shows the relationship between Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Tallman. A textual description of the relationship is shown at the top. Below that you can see the people through which they are related. Their common ancestors are the married couple Mordecai Lincoln and Hannah Salter. Since they are the great-great-grandparents of Abraham Lincoln, and the grandparents of Benjamin Tallman, they are 1st Cousins twice removed. |
