"If you travel around the nation (or
world) doing family ancestry research, then My Roots is a MUST. I carry mine
& my wife's entire family tree, almost 10,000 people, including all of my
notes, in my pocket. Prior to purchasing My Roots we carried eight separate
4" thick binders with family info, one for each grandparent. Often we'd
only carry the ones for part of the family depending on what region we were in.
I can't even image going back to that approach. This synchronizes with any
GEDCOM file (we use Family Tree Maker) making it easy to keep everything up to
date. I've used this on a Palm 515, Palm Tungsten C and now my Palm Tungsten
T/X... they've all worked great. Thanks, My Roots, for an awesome piece of
software."

"My Roots from Tapperware is a must buy
for all those budding family historians who want to keep all their family data
in one, easily accessible place. The software comes with a comprehensive manual
which makes navigating through each screen a real breeze. Also included is a My
Roots converter which is installed on your Desktop and is used as an import /
export function for the files you have created on either platform, as if this
isn't enough you get the option of loading a small pre-constructed database to
help you to learn all the features which come with this excellent program - and
there are many. The facility exists to create source data and source citations
against any of the events you enter whether they be Birth, Marriage or Death or
any other that you care to, on the comprehensive list which includes Census,
christening, Bar Mitzvah, Graduation.... the list goes on and on and has been
well thought out. I particularly liked the way the program produces Ascendency
and Descendency trees against a given individual so you can home in on a
particular part of the tree. Everything is easily readable as well which is
important to me. A powerful facility within the program is the filtering
capability which is extremely useful if your database becomes large - which
family genealogy data invariably becomes, over time. For instance you can filter
out all those individuals who are no longer living, or who were born before a
certain date, and then filter this revised list again, Returning to the main
database and removing the filter with a single click. All in all My Roots is a
terrific programme, well thought out, and will prove invaluable to Family
Historians everywhere."

dos apellidos para cualquier clasificacion genealogica, sin embargo, es una
excelente herramienta para aquellos que nos dedicamos a la Investigacion.
Totalmente recomendable en su relacion Costo-Beneficio Felicidades."

"Great price, great package - This
program is very easy to use and has been perfect in helping me organise my
family tree research. When visiting the FRC having my Clie with My Roots on it
has been so much easier than having reams of paper to organise my notes. I can
then sync with Family Tree Maker using the GED-COM conversion utility and having
my family tree means I can do research work on ancestry.com without having to be
at home. The functionality allows to sort family members by surname or DOB so
it's easy to track down different people when your tree starts getting large. You
can also record lots of different events and creating relationships between
different people is straight forward. All round a good
package well worth the money if you're after a good family tree program."

"Great program easily imported my files
from Family Tree Maker, was very impressed with options and capabilities of this
program, loved playing with the Relationship Calculator. A Palm is a much
handier device to carry than my laptop, and with theft of laptops rising much
more secure in a research environment, quicker to setup and use and I can carry
this with me into the library stacks. Lots of facilities search or won't allow
bags into their center, but a Palm is no problem. This makes this program one of
the best ideas I have seen in a long time."

"My Roots allows genealogists to easily
take their family data with them wherever they go. It has always imported GEDCOM
files without any difficulty, has sorting capabilities and offers several ways
of viewing a person's data. My computer, genealogy software, and PDA are all
"non-standard" (Mac, Reunion, and Clie), so if it works with my
equipment, it should run well with a more "mainstream" setup. Having
my data available on my PDA has allowed me to take advantage of several
spontaneous research opportunities. I've been able to answer questions the
family raises easily because the data is at hand - and my database contains more
than 1800 people. The technical support is also wonderful (and friendly!). I
highly recommend this product."

"An excellent program! Quick, easy to use, and keeps my data compact. I had no problem importing my Gedcom's - made simple and easy with My Roots Gedcom Conversion
Utility. Loaded with features and has great looking screens. I especially like the way color is used to
distinguish gender and approximate dates. And, the developer has been attentive and responsive to my suggestions. I've looked at trial versions of other palm programs, but this one wins the prize!"

"My Roots is an outstanding program which
the new version 3.1 has made even more attractive for PalmOne T3 users by virtue
of allowing use of the extended screen. The program is easily and intuitively
followed. Although many users may have previously used a PC based genealogical
program, they may be tempted to abandon it in favour of My Roots, because the
latter reveals as much information as most will require. Let's face it, most
genealogical data is acquired spontaneously, or by chance, when a PC, unlike a
PDA, may not be available. The portability of My Roots and its ease of use,
significantly also in making corrections, as well as its ability to generate GED
files, which may be printed from a PC now make it an indispensable tool for me
as the family historian."

"I've used My Roots for years - have been doing my
genealogy for about 5 years now. I love the different views and the interoperability with my desktop app
(RootsMagic). I certainly amaze and astound my relations as I show off all the data and relationships in my family records (and color coded) using My Roots. I've tried a dozen desktop apps for
genealogy and finally settled on one, but have only used My Roots on my Palm (even as I have upgraded
handhelds)."

"I have been using My Roots for several
years and I love it. My Roots works extremely well with my extensive family tree
dating back to 1565, and I have never seen such great customer support. Thank
you for this great software and the great customer service."
Richard Matthews, review at PalmGear.com, March 28, 2004
"I was happy with the previous version of My Roots, but I am *very* enthusiastic about the new one! This program has everything a genealogist could want; it offers many features expected only in desktop programs, coupled with ease of manipulation. First of all, the My Roots manual is actually helpful - clearly written and amply illustrated. Downloading and printing it out is worthwhile. Secondly, the new features make research a pleasure.
The Individual Screen moves between events, facts, or siblings very quickly.
The Family View is concisely and clearly displayed. It is very easy to navigate among family members and events; it is also extremely easy to add events and people - just the tap of one button.
This feature is my favorite! The ability to display Ancestors or Descendants gives great flexibility to this program - again with one button; the notation of number of children/grandchildren/great grandchildren in one corner of the screen is a bonus and takes the guesswork out of family relationships.
Lastly, it doesn't matter how complete a
program is unless there is a good support system behind it. I can honestly say
that, in my 27 years of computing, I have never before come across a company
with the response time to users that Tapperware has demonstrated. My Roots is a
reliable, intuitive program that belongs in any serious genealogist's PDA."

"I have used this software for several
years now and it has served me well in my research. The conversion process from
the desktop pc program (Family Historian) to my T3 works well and I can have all
4,000 names in my tree and tons of info at my fingertips wherever I go. Support
is excellent and any suggestions I have made for future improvements and
additions have been well received. If you have a PC you need a Palm.... and if
you have a Palm you need 'My Roots'. I thoroughly recommend it."

"My Roots is one of the few programs that
allow users to modify data within the software.... My Roots has a unique filter
feature that lets you display a "subset" of your family
information.... For example, you can set the program to display only people with
the surname Jones who were born in Kentucky before 1800.... My Roots is
the only program we've found that has a Macintosh conversion utility."
Nancy Hendrickson, Family Tree Magazine, October 2003
"My Roots has proven an excellent tool for
capturing new family information without worrying about losing notes or hauling
my laptop around. At a recent wedding, I was able to enter the groom's immediate
family quickly and easily. The new data views (v3.00) are excellent and easy to
navigate. The import/export function from the accompanying PC based application
makes transferring data to/from my primary package (Family Tree Maker) an
effortless task."

"Found the software 'My Roots'. Downloaded
the trial began importing my family roots.... Within a short period of time I
had all the data organized in my PDA. Now I talk to family members and update
the information quickly. Very easy program to use. The software cost is
reasonable. Buy this and enjoy the easy way to organize your family roots."

software. When I visit the LDS library to do research, I type everything into my

database is in My Roots - it certainly impresses the other researchers!"

"I'm sure you must get lots of fan mail,
but I just have to let you know how much I enjoy My Roots. I've been doing my
family history and my ancestor's descendents for about two years and this
program is really slick. I use Ultimate Family Tree on the laptop, but having
all the data in my Palm in My Roots is a real joy. Thanks."

"My overall impression of the package is
that it has been put together by a team that understands both genealogy software
and hand-held PDAs. They have come up with a very useful tool, which certainly
earns its keep when you are researching."
Anthony Bevis, Family History Monthly, December 2002
"My Roots, unlike GedStar and GedWise,
also allows you to enter genealogical data into your handheld and export that
data back to your desktop system. This means that My Roots is more than just a
viewer program."

"The best-known and most powerful genealogy program for the Palm Operating System is called
'My Roots'.... I was pleased with My Roots. It will not replace the powerful desktop genealogy program that I like to use.
However, it is a great supplemental tool that allows me to keep a subset of my database with me at all times. I always keep my database with me when attending conventions or genealogy society meetings. You never know when you need to look up a record!"

"This is a great software. Especially if
you have extended family histories and would like to track them all such as age,
birth, how many brothers and sisters. It would be an advantage if you go to a

"This is such a neat program. What's great for me is to have my family tree with me at all times so that I can add data if I encounter family. I don't use it to add large data- that's what my desktop computer is for, so I don't need the keyboard for my Palm. I use it to show family and make sure data is correct, and the program has all the information I have from my desk program (Reunion)."

"The software provides me with the means of collating my genealogy data for research on the move. Everything at my fingertips with the added bonus of being able to add and update data as I come across new relatives. Note taking facility within each person's record also a boon."

"My Roots is an excellent program that
greatly increases the genealogy value of a Palm or Visor shirt-pocket system. It
will never compete with more powerful desktop genealogy programs. Instead, you
might consider My Roots as a great addition to your present genealogy program."

"I've used MyRoots since version 1.1 and it's been great. I am using it more than my PC-based Family Tree Maker because my Palm is with me more than the laptop. Field changes marked as "C" so I can modify PC info quickly. A terrific program."

"My Roots is an excellent program. It's hard to believe you can have your entire genealogy collection (birth, death, marriage, baptism, and all) in my shirt pocket. It was invaluable when I visited my State Archives this week. The support was wonderful for the less-than-computer-literate user. And, I thank Tom for all the help he gave me. I cannot say
enough about this program."

"Without a doubt, the most useful piece of genealogical software available. Why? Because you can have it with you whenever you need to add information. Navigation is a breeze once you get the data in there. Everything is linked together making it easy to traverse the genealogical tree. For you genealogists out there, this is the tool you need."

"I've been waiting for a genealogy program for my Palm III and this one fills the bill very nicely. I am currently running it with a 360 person Gedcom file from Legacy Family Tree 2.0 and it is running great. I tried out the demo version and bought it. I asked some questions and requested assistance from Tom Ward, the developer, and was amazed at how quickly he responded. I'm looking forward to using My Roots and more contact with Tom at Tapperware."
