What is My Roots?

My Roots comes with a free conversion utility for importing data from GED files created by all the best-selling desktop genealogy applications including Family Tree Maker, Legacy, PAF, and RootsMagic (see the FAQ for a complete list).

Once my data is in My Roots, what can I do with it?
You can view and modify data right in My Roots. Once you've finished making changes, for example, after a trip to the research library, you can export your data to a GED file. My Roots provides many ways to view your data, including family group sheets, ancestor and descendant charts, and a relationship calculator.

What are the system requirements for My Roots?
My Roots will run on any handheld running Microsoft® Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile™ 2003, Windows Mobile 5, or Windows Mobile 6 or later (how can I tell?). There is also a version for Palm OS® handhelds. The conversion utility will run on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista.
