What is My Roots?
My Roots is the most powerful genealogy application available
for Palm OSŪ handhelds. It lets you take your genealogy data with you wherever
you go. Since handheld computers can fit in your shirt pocket or purse, they are much
more convenient than a laptop or a 3-ring binder. With My Roots, you can stay
organized and work more efficiently whether you're at a courthouse, library,
or family reunion.
How do I get my data into My Roots?
My Roots comes with a free conversion utility (Windows or Macintosh) for
importing data from GED files created by all the best-selling desktop
genealogy applications including Family Tree Maker, Legacy, PAF, and Reunion
(see the FAQ for a complete list).
Once my data is in
My Roots, what can I do with it?
You can view and modify data right in My Roots. Once you've finished making
changes, for example, after a trip to the research library, you can export
your data to a GED file. My Roots provides many ways to view your data,
including ancestor trees, descendant trees, filtering, and a graphical
relationship calculator.
What are the system
requirements for My Roots?
My Roots will run on any handheld running Palm OSŪ 3.0 or later. There is also a version for
Windows Mobile / Pocket PC handhelds. The PC
conversion utility will run on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista. There is
a Macintosh conversion utility for Mac OS 8/9 and a native OS X version as
well.
How can I get My
Roots?
You can purchase My Roots for only
$24.95. Since there is also a
free
downloadable trial version, why not give it a try?
