What is My Roots?

How do I get my data into My Roots?
My Roots comes with a free conversion utility (Windows or Macintosh) for importing data from GED files created by all the best-selling desktop genealogy applications including Family Tree Maker, Legacy, PAF, and Reunion (see the FAQ for a complete list).

Once my data is in My Roots, what can I do with it?
You can view and modify data right in My Roots. Once you've finished making changes, for example, after a trip to the research library, you can export your data to a GED file. My Roots provides many ways to view your data, including ancestor trees, descendant trees, filtering, and a graphical relationship calculator.

What are the system requirements for My Roots?
My Roots will run on any handheld running Palm OS® 3.0 or later. There is also a version for Windows Mobile / Pocket PC handhelds. The PC conversion utility will run on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista. There is a Macintosh conversion utility for Mac OS 8/9 and a native OS X version as well.
