What is DB Scope?
DB Scope is a tool for developers, used to view and edit databases, application information blocks, and saved and unsaved preferences.

What's so special about DB Scope?
DB Scope uses the concept of "layouts" for your application's databases. You create a layout that describes the format of each of your databases, using the 14 data types supported by DB Scope.

Once I've created these layouts, what will DB Scope do for me?
DB Scope lets you view and modify the contents of your databases. As opposed to displaying everything as either characters or hex, DB Scope displays field values according to the formats you specified, so strings are displayed as strings, numbers are displayed as numbers, dates are displayed as dates, etc. You can modify the value of any field by entering a formatted value. For example, if you want to set a date field to "08/27/2002", you simply enter that string. You don't have to calculate what the Palm OSŪ value for that date would have to be in hex.

What else does DB Scope do?
DB Scope lets you view and modify the value of a database's application information block and saved and unsaved preferences. You can also look at a list of all databases on your handheld or files on an expansion card. You can create, rename, move, or delete databases and files. DB Scope also lets you create and delete records in a database, find records by their unique ID, and display a record's attributes and category. Finally, records that contain strings are automatically resized as needed when the fields are edited.

What are the system requirements for DB Scope?
DB Scope will run on any handheld running Palm OSŪ 3.5 or later.

How can I get DB Scope?
You can purchase DB Scope for only $14.95. Since there is also a free downloadable trial version, why not give it a try?
